My friend Patrick, who is from Hong Kong, brought us some gifts purchased on a recent visit.
He bought us the Mai Tai baby carrier. The instructions were in Chinese, but as far as I could tell, this was how you are supposed to wear it.
I think I'm not doing it right because a) she hates being in it and b) the strap in the back ends up with a lot left over while the strap in the front barely reaches. Maybe, it could be that it was made for a petite Chinese woman, and that's why it doesn't fit. I'm not sure. I also think she's a bit small for it. The baby in the picture looked to be about six months old as it's feet stuck out the sides and hers just sort of curl up underneath her.
He also got Lillian this little red outfit. The shirt ties on the side, Asian style.
Patrick told me that it says "arrival" upside-down because the character for 'arrival' when turned upside-down looks like the character for 'blessed.' Or something like that... so it says "blessed arrival."
