You drill holes for the worms to come in and out, fill it up, add the worms, then keep adding compost stuff. The food keeps disappearing, so I'm assuming the worms are still coming back for more and depositing the goodness throughout the soil. Plus, the boys love feeding their pet worms (which we never actually see). Happy worms = happy soil.
